Why join Scouting?

So...why join Scouting?
For the fun, friendship and adventures! Oh, and for the character development, participating citizenship, and learning that is experienced while having fun in a safe environment!

BSA Mission Statement
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

The activities and adventures a youth experiences in Scouting are rooted in the BSA Mission Statement. As Cub Scout leaders we are trusted to carry out the BSA Cub Scout Program so that every youth has the opportunity to learn to live by the Cub Scout Promise and the Law of the Pack.

Cub Scout Promise
(Our version of the Scout Oath)
I promise to do my best
To do my duty to God and my country,
To help other people, and
To obey the Law of the Pack.

Law of the Pack
(Our version of the Scout Law)
The Cub Scout follows Akela.
The Cub Scout helps the Pack go.
The Pack helps the Cub Scout grow.
The Cub Scout gives goodwill.
